An emergency fundraiser has been established for Wayne on his Facebook page to help his sister, Susan, and niece, Shena, while they are in Cincinnati supporting Wayne at his bedside. All funds contributed will be assisting with food, travel, lodging, and other expenses that they and Wayne are accumulating while he remains hospitalized and in critical condition. Any and all donations are very much appreciated.

Updates on Wayne's Condition
Saturday, September 14, 2019
Wayne Dennon was in a very serious motorcycle accident on Sunday, September 8, 2019. He is currently in the ICU at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is in poor condition as of this message, has suffered major head trauma and has been in an 'unawakened state' since the accident. Wayne is on a ventilator (probably one that he serviced regularly in his day job) which is now doing his breathing for him. A section of his skull has been removed due to swelling of his brain and the head injuries he's suffered.
If you know of someone - a friend, a relative, an acquaintance - that you believe would want to know, please let them know. I will do my best to respond to any messages. I will also try to provide regular updates on his condition at his website (which many have apparently been to and commented on in the distant past).
This is our only way to get the word out to family and friends of Wayne. He is tech-savvy and everything he does is either in person with a smile and a joke or completely digital. His passcode-protected iPhone is the gateway to all of his contacts (...of which there are thousands - guaranteed.) and his family has tried everything in order to contact all of those that he loves.
Please send your love and prayers that he's able to pull through this and continue his journey, enriching the lives of everyone he meets.

The medical staff said Wayne had a bad night. They said he pulled out the feeding tube. They had to put that back in. They said he was very wild because of being aggravated. They now have his legs restrained. They are going to take out the breathing tube today. They are hoping he can maintain breaths on his own. If not then the trach will go in as planned. Continue to pray for him and pray he can handle breathing on his own.”

Doctors are doing a tracheotomy and putting feeding tube in Wayne's belly today. We're not sure when, yet. He’s had a very rough morning. Continued prayers are appreciated and very much needed.

Great News! They think Wayne will be waking up real soon now. He was able to follow a couple of verbal commands this morning. Doctors said it would be a while yet before we know the extent of damage to the brain. Prayers are working... please keep them coming!

I just returned home to Louisville from visiting with Wayne in Cincinnati this afternoon and there is some really incredible news to share.
Wayne woke up today! Not only that, he opened his eyes, made direct eye contact with me AND his sister, and even grabbed ahold of my hand and squeezed as if he could feel the love. He even gave his sister a big smile!
Our friend looks substantially better today than even just a couple of days ago. His skin coloring is coming back, his wounds are healing... In other words, today was monumental!
There's a seriously long road ahead but we definitely didn't expect this turn of events today. So, big kudos to the 'foxy nurses' (as he would likely refer to them) and doctors that have been taking really good care of him. They've been going above and beyond!
And one last thing, as I told him I was leaving to head home this evening, he grabbed my hand a second time and gave me a fist bump. Keep the love flowing... our buddy and friend is still in there!

From Susan, Wayne's Sister:
Wayne had a much better day today and is worn out now. He had therapy this morning and they put him on the side of the bed for a few minutes. They even got him to stand for a few seconds. After that, they hoisted him into a chair and he sat there for an hour.
He has given several big smiles today. He had a big morning with therapy so now he is worn out. Continue with your prayers. I know they are working.

From Susan, Wayne's Sister:
For some good news: Wayne is totally off the ventilator he’s been breathing on his own for 48 hours now.
The trac was taken out and a smaller one has been put in. You can now hear him making noises.
He was up in the chair again this morning and was able to sit there for an hour in a half. They also had him standing for a few seconds.
He’s worn out now but it was a good morning for him.
Thank you for your prayers love and support.
